Meet the Team
Cathleen Deutscher
Founder and director of Fluid Power Barre Fitness of Sayville, Cathleen brings a vibrant background in dance, anatomy, and somatic education to her teaching. She holds an MFA in Dance from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied Pilates with Kathy Grant, an original protégé of Joseph Pilates, sparking her lifelong passion for movement as a healing art.
A former member of the Joyce Trisler Danscompany, Cathleen trained in the Lester Horton technique, known for its corrective, whole-body approach. Her extensive teaching career includes Adelphi University, Peridance Center NY, and Eglevsky Ballet Summer Workshops, where she developed a deep commitment to helping students of all levels move with awareness and strength.
Introduced to barre through the Lotte Berk Method, Cathleen was among the first instructors invited to teach Exhale Barre (formerly Core Fusion™) over 20 years ago. She opened Fluid Power in 2008, creating a welcoming space for transformative movement and community connection.
Cathleen is also a RYT 500 yoga instructor, Reiki practitioner, and energy medicine practitioner through the Melaney Ryan Institute of Applied Consciousness (MRIAC), offering Integrative Therapeutic Alignment (ITA) sessions for mind-body-spirit balance. She is currently studying Somatic Movement and Quantum Osteopathy with Living Somatics, further deepening her understanding of movement as medicine.
Her classes are known for being intelligent, efficient, and uplifting, helping each client build strength, alignment, and confidence from the inside out.

Hallie Harvey
With a lifelong passion for movement, Hallie brings energy, precision, and rhythm to every barre class. Her background in gymnastics and kickline shapes her dynamic, disciplined teaching style, blending strength, flexibility, and grace.
A Fluid Power Teacher Training graduate (Fall 2024) and devoted FP student since early 2023, Hallie leads upbeat, empowering classes that build long, lean muscles, improve posture, and boost confidence. Her goal is to help every client feel stronger, more centered, and uplifted each time they step up to the barre.
Linda McLehose
Linda began her barre journey in 2017, seeking relief from chronic back pain. Strengthening her core through consistent practice not only eased the pain, it transformed the way she moves, feels, and connects with her body. The dynamic, challenging classes at Fluid Power Barre Fitness helped her build strength, enhance mobility, and deepen her mind-body connection.
A 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher, Linda also leads Vinyasa, Yin, and Yoga Nidra classes. Barre has become a powerful complement to her yoga practice, refining alignment, building stability, and cultivating greater awareness. In addition to her movement background, Linda is a licensed psychotherapist with a deep understanding of how emotional and physical well-being intertwine.
Her classes empower clients to feel present, strong, and balanced, both inside and out.

Brittany Wilbur
A former gymnast with over 15 years of experience, Brittany brings strong body awareness, discipline, and focus to her classes. While working as a software developer with degrees in Computer Science and Music, fitness has remained her lifelong passion.
Since discovering Fluid Power Fitness in 2013 and training under Cathleen Deutscher, Brittany has embraced barre for its mind-body connection and strength through all seasons of life, including two pregnancies. Her classes are intentional, empowering, and designed to help clients connect deeply with their bodies and discover their inner strength.
